Semaglutide

Semaglutide is a long-acting GLP-1 receptor agonist approved in the United States under different brand names for type 2 diabetes and for chronic weight management. It has been studied in large randomised trials measuring glucose control, body weight and cardiovascular outcomes, and it has well-documented gastrointestinal side effects.
