Structural, Functional & Synaptic Plasticity

Synaptic plasticity is change in the strength of individual connections. Structural plasticity is physical change in neural tissue, such as spine growth or altered grey and white matter. Functional plasticity is change in which circuits perform a task. They overlap, and each is measured with different, imperfect methods.
