This Privacy Policy describes how iDigits LLC ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and shares information about you when you visit beiing.com (the "Site"). By using the Site, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
1. Information We Collect
Beiing is primarily an informational website. We collect minimal personal data. The types of information we may collect include:
- Usage data: pages visited, time on site, referring URLs, browser type, and device type - collected automatically via analytics tools.
- Newsletter sign-up data: if you subscribe to our newsletter, we collect your email address.
- Contact inquiries: if you email us, we retain the content of that communication.
- Cookies and similar technologies: we use cookies to understand site traffic and improve user experience (see Section 4).
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect for the following purposes:
- To operate and improve the Beiing website and content.
- To respond to inquiries and communicate with you.
- To send newsletters or updates, if you have opted in.
- To analyze traffic patterns and understand how visitors use the site.
- To comply with legal obligations.
3. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties. We may share information in limited circumstances:
- Service providers: we use trusted third-party tools (such as analytics platforms and email service providers) that may process data on our behalf under appropriate agreements.
- Legal requirements: we may disclose information if required to do so by law or in response to valid requests by public authorities.
- Business transfers: in the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction.
4. Cookies
We use cookies and similar tracking technologies to collect usage data and improve the site experience. You can control cookies through your browser settings. Disabling cookies may affect some site functionality. Types of cookies we use include:
- Essential cookies: necessary for the site to function.
- Analytics cookies: help us understand how visitors interact with the site (e.g., Google Analytics).
- Preference cookies: remember your settings and preferences.
5. Third-Party Links
Beiing contains links to third-party websites, including our Link Directory. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of those sites. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any external sites you visit.
6. Data Retention
We retain personal data only as long as necessary for the purposes described in this policy or as required by law. Analytics data is retained in aggregate and anonymized form. Email addresses collected for newsletters are retained until you unsubscribe.
7. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights regarding your personal data, including:
- The right to access the personal data we hold about you.
- The right to request correction or deletion of your data.
- The right to opt out of marketing communications at any time.
- The right to lodge a complaint with a data protection authority (for EU/EEA residents under GDPR).
8. Children's Privacy
Beiing is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have inadvertently collected information from a child, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.
9. Security
We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information from unauthorized access, loss, or misuse. However, no internet transmission is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
10. Payments and Donations
Beiing+ memberships and voluntary support contributions are processed by Stripe, Inc., our payment processor. Beiing does not collect, see, or store your card number, CVC, or full banking details at any point.
- Stripe collects the payment details you enter and processes the transaction as an independent data controller under its own privacy policy (stripe.com/privacy).
- We receive only limited transaction records from Stripe - such as the amount, currency, date, last four digits, payment status, and the email address you provide at checkout.
- For members, we store a Stripe customer identifier and subscription status so we can show your plan and let you manage or cancel your billing.
- We use the email address supplied at checkout solely to send a receipt and any necessary billing notices, not for marketing unless you separately opt in.
- Payment records are retained as long as required for accounting, tax, and fraud-prevention purposes.
11. Wellness Information and Audio
Beiing is a wellness and self-care experience. It is not medical care, therapy, or a medical-record system, and it is not a HIPAA-covered service. Please do not enter diagnoses, medications, insurance details, treatment records, or other sensitive medical information into the Site.
- We minimize collection of personal wellness information. Saved experiences and favorites store only presentation settings (such as an intention label, palette, visual style, and sound choice) - not health history or how you felt.
- We do not collect diagnoses, medical records, medication, insurance, treatment records, or clinician notes.
- Audio used by the visualizer is processed locally in your browser for visual reactivity. We do not record, upload, or store your microphone or tab audio.
- Product analytics use generic, non-identifying event names only - never free-text entries or sensitive wellness details tied to your identity.
- You retain the normal account and privacy rights described in Section 7, including access and deletion of your account data.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the site after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
