Stroke, Rehabilitation & Neuroplasticity

After a stroke, recovery combines spontaneous biological processes with experience-dependent plasticity driven by what a person actually practises. Guidelines support organised, multidisciplinary, task-specific rehabilitation, but outcomes vary enormously between individuals, no approach guarantees full neurological recovery, and more intensity is not automatically better or safe for everyone.
