Exercise & Neuroplasticity
Regular physical activity is one of the best-supported behaviours for overall and brain health, and meta-analyses find small cognitive benefits in older adults. Evidence that exercise changes specific brain structures in humans is real but modest and inconsistent, and animal findings on neurogenesis and BDNF should not be read as proven human effects.
