Why Music Matters in Therapeutic Settings
Music is used in therapeutic settings mainly to shape the emotional environment of a session: it can support relaxation, encourage inward attention, and give shape to an experience over time. Research in music therapy is reasonably well established for mood, anxiety and pain; research on music within psychedelic-assisted therapy is much newer and smaller.
